what a bargain! This house could get a lot of TLC since it’s priced somewhat less than my car! Wonder why the price is so low. She could use a buff up, and there are a couple of spots that look as though they need immediate attention, but for this price…. Lovely floors and some lovely windows. I just wish she was a little further north, as I am trying to move away from the oppressive summer heat. Still, a lot of potential at a bargain basement price.

Yikes! There must be something wrong with it, right? I mean beyond the obvious superficial stuff.

Actually, no! It’s just a small town that would be great for retired people! The exterior has some wood rot, a few cracked windows, typical old house stuff. The porch is amazing. The street and the tree shaded lot are amazing! There are THREE sets of French doors, two which go to the exterior. Original hardware on most of the doors! The bathroom needs the most work, which is probably a subfloor. But honestly, you could be all in this house for $50k and have it sparkling!

Glad to see it make it to the front page! My husband and I drove out to see it (we’re on a Mississippi tour of old homes 😉 ) and it is GORGEOUS! It has the original front and back doors still, plus a cute little corner built-in cabinet. I’m kicking myself for not taking pics of it. It also has a separate workshop with its own meter and the lot is beautiful. Tree shaded lot that has to be over a half acre (says 0.35 in the listing but way bigger). It’s a sleepy little town of just under 1,000 people but Main Street is SO charming and so are all of the old homes on the street. I begged hubby to let us buy this one, but it’s just a little too far from work sadly.

Thanks for adding these, Kelly! I just love this house and this sweet little street. I *almost* had my Mom convinced to buy it as a “family retreat” as its halfway between me and my sister, but I think I lost her. I’m on a mission to get someone to buy this house!
