    It’s odd to me how chastely Colonial Revival influenced late Queen Anne the trim is downstairs, yet the upstairs and kitchen have those rosette blocks with folksy Eastlake crestings on top.

    The spandrels are amazing–so crisp and clean and linear–Victorian on the very edge of modern.

    I wish we had a closeup of that interesting looking newel post.
