Absolutely! This house is a happy mix of two eras… they don’t always work together but the combination seems to work here. This house has the perfect entry hall; it’s spacious but not pretentious… just solid and welcoming. The two windows in the living room are a fun and unusual twist on a corner window. The built-in storage in the 1960’s bedroom looks incredibly useful. I really like this house!

Went and took a look at this house (I live only a couple miles away)–the foundation is faced with neatly coursed limestone ashlar on the sides and rear, but crude rubble across the front: Ergo, it originally had a front porch the full width of the façade. The yard appears to take up the interior of the entire block. Beautiful street and a walk-to-everything location in the ‘Grape Juice Capitol of the World.’

I’ve seen this house too. My dad had a hunting camp in Sherman, and we often got off the thruway in Westfield. Occasionally, we’d drive around Westfield, looking at old houses, antiques of all kinds being something my mom and I both love.

Great interior woodwork, stair, and mantle/tiles! Definitely needs the original porch revived

Like the exterior but I would love to see what the original porch looked like!

I’m a little confused. The exterior photos show a single red door as the entry, but in photo 6 there are those BEAUTIFUL tall double doors that lead out and you can see the red door through them.

If you look closely at the outside, you can see how there is a little but out, for a small entry. Useful in winter, I bet, to help keep the cold air outside!

I think I’d tear up that lino, and get rid of the kitchen cabinets. I hope there’s more of that wonderful wood floor under the lino! I love the woodwork. I thin k everything this house needs is merely cosmetic-new paint outside, for instance. I’d look into a few different colors, too. I’ve seen this house, too. If you ever get to Westfield, drive around. Lots of nice old houses.
