Schoolhouse No. 1, C 1870. Completely charming and full of character. The old blackboard is behind the present wall of the dining room! Beautiful woodwork and built-ins, old pine floors, plaster walls Extensive natural landscaping and stonework. Delightful screened porch overlooking the gardens and woods and a tinkling water feature. Two nice outbuildings, both w/electric. One used to be a sugarhouse, the other a potting shed. Amazingly private and quiet out back. This has only been used as a summer home for decades. Needs a septic system and updating. Needs substantial downpmt or CASH. This is an estate sale - BEING SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO WARRANTIES

A charming conversion. And I would keep the DR exactly as is, re: paint & wallpaper.

I on the other hand would expose that blackboard the day I got the keys! Although the dining room is very pretty as is. There’s not much evidence of the schoolhouse history left in this home but it’s charming.

So nice that they provide the old photo of the school. Really brings it to life for me. I would gather up, and display, everything I could find related to the school days, including exposing the blackboard.

What a surprise. Everything well done. Love the stove in the kitchen. I would like it for the stove. Lovely interior and exterior.
