This super stone cottage has masses of character and room to develop further. Situated in a quiet position, with lovely countryside views it is currently used as a holiday home but could be a family house. With a little work it could be a beautiful three bedroom, two bathroom house full of quirky character.
This enchanting cottage is full of character and offers masses of potential to add to, or change the layout of the current living space. It comprises a living/dining room with a corner kitchen, featuring a fireplace with wood burner.
An inner hall leads to a double bedroom and shower room with shower, wc, basin and bidet. Above this is a large mezzanine style bedroom with ample room for two beds. On the first floor are another two rooms currently accessed via a loft ladder but there is room to install a staircase and make two bedrooms or a bedroom with dressing/shower room. The house is surrounded by a lawned garden and to the rear is an old barn/garage in need of some renovation.

Tres belle! ?
This is lovely. How can I work full time in France?!!
I want to move to France !!!need a major change in my life !!!
Charming! When was this cottage built? What town is near?
Langeais, Loire Valley,
The main town would be Flers, 20min away. Bigger cities Alençon and Caen are much farther (1h15 drive). There’s also the cute medieval town of Domfront nearby: http://arpanum.com/vv/domfront.html (and check Google images to see ruins of old castles and timber-framed townhouses)
Philadelphia, PA
I see potential! After watching an entire season of “Escape to the Continent” on Netflix (a far better British version of House Hunters, where Brits are house hunting in various countries in mainland Europe), I am completely enamored with the idea of growing old in a small villa in France, Italy, or Portugal.
Love that show!
I did NOT know that show existed. Thank you! That is something I will weekend binge very soon.
I wish there were more photos. It’s so charming it makes me want to run away!
Wow. Isn’t this where the three fairies hid Aurora all those years?
Langeais, Loire Valley,
Have you seen the 11th C. abbey that’s in the village? There’s also what seems to be an ancient market hall? See here: https://goo.gl/maps/JFtHzcr24XQ2
Langeais, Loire Valley,
Be sure to check the town of Domfront nearby, a medieval town with timber-framed houses, of course plenty of stone buildings, ruins of old castles, etc. https://tinyurl.com/y9u8xcyf / http://arpanum.com/vv/domfront.html / http://www.ot-domfront.com/a_voir_a_faire/patrimoine_GB.htm
Also, have you noted that there’s no stairs but a foldable ladder (behind the couch)
