Great potential for this older home on a large property right in the house lots area. This "fixer" has 3 bedrooms/1 bath upstairs and a finished basement with storage. House needs extensive repair to make it shine again but it's a good opportunity for the next owner. Lot size is half and acre and has ample room in back. Fruit bearing trees like avocado and citrus to produce again with the right care. Location is ideally centralized making it minutes away from professional offices, banking, stores, schools, community college, shopping centers, airport, parks etc. Come and check with out today!

Thanks to Jennifer HT for sharing.

Hawaii is so hard to find something interesting in. I don’t really care for the interior of this one but the exterior could be something. Plus, it’s Hawaii! Who doesn’t want an avocado and citrus tree?!

No mention in the description, I wonder if those are working solar panels on the roof (that’s solar, right?)

Must admit that I don’t know Hawaii real estate, but this seems amazingly inexpensive for a 1/2 acre with anything on it.

Yay! Thanks for sharing! HI is a hard hard place to find truly old homes. I think so many are knocked down for vacation compounds. I don’t know anything about the area, but it is ridiculously reasonable for the land alone.

I see built-ins! And it’s in Hawaii! And it doesn’t cost millions! Wow!

For Hawaii, believe it or not the asking price is actually quite reasonable…even with the current shape of the property. It is located on the Big Island and appr. 45 minutes from Volcano, HI, home to one of the most beautiful active volcano sites in the world. If you have military connections, KMC Military Camp (akin to a KOA campground) is available for renting cabins across from the Volcano Park and includes many amenities as well. I admit having lived in Hawaii I do miss my calamansi, avocado, guava, lychee, and mango trees in my yard. This particular property could be very nice once reconditioned. I wonder if that’s a covered imu pit in the backyard? BONUS, Braddahs and Sistahs!

Map view does show property approx. 5 blocks from the ocean which is a plus, but on the minus side it is even closer to the Hilo Airport.

I noticed that too…not sure I’d like to be THAT close to an international airport! Cute house on the outside, but it does need a lot of work on the inside.

I love this! Im an Old Home lover so a lot of the original is still inside. Just some love, sanding, paint and new flooring and she would be beautiful just from that alone, I see built ins, original bathroom tiles, love the huge old industrial sink(soapstone? concrete?) My hubby will probably cringe but I see lots of potential!

I agree – the price is VERY reasonable for HI. From what I understand of Hilo (a favorite musician lives there and sings of it), it has active food, music and nature scenes. It’s also pretty close to 3(?) active volcanoes; Kilauea (sp?) has been going since the 80s and is spewing lava right now. A gorgeous place to live if you can respect its dangers.

This home has so much going for it. Solar panels, built-ins, fruit trees, and space to garden. For someone with a budget suited for Hawaii’s market, it could be well worth fixing up. I’d start with the kitchen, bathrooms and the mold. Unless I’m missing something, most of it looks cosmetic.
