Lots of history surrounds this home. This house was built around 1890 for a Physician's personal home and office. It is in need of some love and care but could be a beautiful home. The upstairs has space for 2 additional bedrooms . There used to be a staircase in the foyer that gave access to the upstairs but only a pulldown is available now. A craftsman could turn it back into a beautiful farm house. 2.34 acres with a creek and if some trees were removed you would have a mountain view. Taxes are accessed at 6% because it is not currently owner occupied.

I am kinda charmed by the kitchen. I wouldn’t do much to it.

I live one town away from Landrum, which is a very nice town, and definitely on the upswing in terms of r.e. values. This is a nice country area, maybe a little remote for some, but within a few miles of stores, doctors, etc.
I may drive out to look at it.
    Thanks!

6% property tax for non-owner occupied??? Yikes! And I thought CA was bad!

Taxes are quite low in NC and SC. Under ordinary circumstances, I’d expect taxes on a house like that to be no more than $1,000/year.

I, too, like the kitchen although it has been redone within the last 30 years. But lots of cupboards. Lots of staining on area where you go up to attic. Wonder what that is all about? I would have like to see more pictures both inside and out.

Wonder what happened to the stairs that “used to be” in the hall? Stairs are not cheap to build.

Also, wondering about the tongue and groove walls. Do they have any insulation behind them from 1890?

Pretty house surrounded by pretty land. Take a drive down Hwy 101 on street view and just look at the beautiful land!

That area is beautiful, starting with the drive out of Landrum on Rt. 14.
