I really like this place I wish there were some more pictures. And is it just me, or does the street view not exist?

Lovely brick Italianate style house with the expected (probably walnut) original millwork in the entry. At some later point, it looks like some effort was made to “Colonialize” the house inside as seen in the rooms with Colonial details. The price seemed a bit optimistic until I saw the four acre sized lot included with the house. That goes a long way towards moderating the selling price although in some places the house alone would be worth more than the asking price. Not all Italianates had cube-like forms with low pitched hipped or pyramidal roofs, as this example demonstrates. The segmented, arched topped windows and multiple large corbels under the eaves (as well as the Italiante newel post inside) tie this house to the Italianate style.

Just found this house on a drive from Columbia, Mo. It is an impressive house from the outside. Did not go in. Sadly the town it’s in has nothing to offer, so you would either need to commute or be happy with the tiny town. It would make a lovely bed and breakfast if one could appeal to historic home buffs, but guests would have to travel for entertainment. In this location and in this area, I think you might buy it for less. I, at least, would offer less. If anyone has other info on the house’s buider, would love to know it. I would have thought it was older from shape and size of windows.

Reduced to $154,900 but the description states you have to buy some additional land nearby, I think this is it for $70k: https://www.trulia.com/property/5028969317–Ruby-St-Sturgeon-MO-65284
