I was scared when I read “remodeled in 2011” but then I remembered that Kelly wouldn’t post something that was updated beyond recognition, and I was right! What a fantastic house!

Was there a estate sale going on when these pictures were taken? The staircase is beautiful, all that wood!

Big beautiful house! The listing says he recently spent $250k on repairs, so I imagine the reserve would be about that much. No bids yet!

The mention of House and Contents is confusing, but the antiques and collectibles are being auctioned separately:

Such a charming home! Although the Elizabethan/Jacobean style fireplace looks wildly out of place in such a home, I almost wonder whether it’s an item that has been salvaged from a more appropriate home across the pond?

Fergus, your sharp eyes do not deceive you. I’m fairly certain that ornate highly carved fireplace is not of American origin. If not from the UK, it’s likely to be from Europe. How it ended up here is probably a story in itself. Impressive house overall; I hope the auction goes well.

The stairs, the fireplace, that bed! I’ll take it!

OMG! Did my eyes deceive me or are the stained glass windows up for auction sale on the bid link being sold separately from the house?!?!?!?!?! It appears they are still intact and built-in to the home! Say it isn’t so! I hope this home isn’t being pillaged item by item.

They are just hanging in the window, not apart of the windows. He was probably a collector of old house things as obvious from the old house parts also being sold and the non-original fireplace mantel.

I found his obituary online. He graduated from Harvard; I wonder what he studied?

    I’m suddenly very sad.
