I would love to see this house be completely restored by one of the experts here! I just see such a romantic house in a beautiful setting. Although, growing up in the city of 3 rivers, I always worry about flooding.

Flooding seems a potential issue for sure, but what a cool cool house!

The photos make the house look isolated, but it’s in a cute village on the NRHP. This could be a wonderful getaway or retirement house, with some basic repairs and systems, maybe some paint. The see-thru foundation needs fixin.

Oh, this reminds me of the house in Tideland. Or something from an Andrew Wyeth painting. It’s in a lovely and lonely setting. I love it.

WAY too close to the water for my comfort. I hope someone snags it and brings it back to life.

The same house out on the plains of Kansas might be priced at a fraction of this amount but here some premium is charged for riverfront access. Based on the couple of photos, the interior looks relatively intact and consistent with the listed date. The house has been electrified, probably has indoor plumbing and with two chimneys visible, it may have or had a couple of mantels inside. Plaster walls as far as I can tell and the mentioned newer roof takes that worry away. Concerns about flooding may be valid but because its near and opens onto the Chesapeake Bay any flooding would probably come from Hurricanes. That said, when I searched for information about the location, “Morratico Tornado” was among the entries. One would need to check nearby shoreline properties to ascertain relative property values. Project house, but appears to be less challenging than some. It would make a nice weekend or vacation getaway I would think.

This is located in the Northern Neck of Virginia. It is a place that Washington DC area people like to retire to. Northern Neck is also where George Washington’s family is from.

We actually looked at the house and unfortunately it’s in dire condition! Had a tree fall on the roof and had extensive water damage. Floor caved in in many areas. Also has many raccoons living in it with feces everywhere. Very, very sad. No plumbing, no intact electric and no septic. Would love to have seen it in its hay day.

Its My House Now and I love it. The house is very stable and renovations are slowly coming along. The View is breath taking and the nicest little village ever! Planning on this being a retirement home…but maybe a B and B for a short time, Who knows.
