What an odd place for a dining room right inside the front door. Was that originally the entrance hall?

I was thinking the same thing!

Unusual layout as others have noted. The front has the typical turn of the last century Southern cottage look with Colonial Revival details. Then there’s the brick portion which often indicates two different periods but the leaded glass transom seen in one photo still accords with the 1906 period. One would need to investigate what appears on the surface as almost like two houses joined together. Interesting details are to be found inside no matter how the brick and frame portions became joined together. The brick does look newer so the two story section might have once been frame with shingles or clapboards like the front facade. Unusual place name as well here.

Um, is no one else curious about who is buried in the front yard?
