What is it about this house that I find so scary? I can appreciate how cute it could become but something about these pictures I find very off putting.

I also think Manor House is a bit of an exaggeration.

The price is right, leaves enough money in the kitty for a decent restoration.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The bathrooms especially make me uncomfortable. Not a good energy in this house.

I lived in Dillwyn VA for a couple years this house was in poor condition in the early 2000’s. Needs a complete remodel not worth the asking price. Should be free to a good owner.

I see tons of potential in that kitchen!!!!!

Open that window back up, put a wood stove in the corner, big country table, gas range big enough to do all my canning, and lots of counter acreage.

I have been in this house. It was 2003 or 2004.

The opinions expressed above are echoed by me. Definitely felt an intense vibe in this house.

I think the house exudes such a sadness at being in the wrong hands for so long and suffering such outright disdain and neglect. I get that it is begging for help to become beautiful and loved again. Hope someone can save it soon. Wish I could….

I think this house could be done up beautifully. I don’t think I would do a thing except a good cleaning on the kitchen cabinets. I love the cabinets and the sink. I would replace the smaller window with the correct size. The rooms look large and easy to work with. I love the simple staircase. I’m inclined to think that the quality of the pics are what is a little off putting. I like the simplicity of the house and it would showcase beautifully your furniture and theme.

On another site I read where this property is in foreclosure. It has no heat or air conditioner. But it is on an acre lot and could have a lot of potential! Just need some soap and water and truck full of paint to shine it up a bit! After some hard work, could have a beautiful place!

Ok so enough other comments made so I will add this. Structurally this was a good house when I was in it. Big rooms. Lots of potential. We walked thru it all because it was unlocked.

We came out without saying a word previously to one another, and said, Did you feel that? We both said yes.

I don’t know about the stuff y’all are talking about, but the kitchen is creepy!

I would take this home in a heartbeat! GOOD strong bones, GREAT old (original?) kitchen. Lots of soap and elbow grease, but worth the $36,250 it’s currently reduced to. I’d burn some sage just to be on the safe side…

Woooooo! Those of you who thought the kitchen was creepy need to go to Trulia, blow up the pictures, and look at the one of the kitchen on there! It makes these look gorgeous! I didn’t get the bad feeling about this one, which kind of freaks me out when I see how many of ya’ll did. One thing I DID notice which seems really strange! The two bedrooms look like the closet has been bricked up/blocked off. Why would they do that? I wonder if ya’ll maybe saw that and for some reason felt that was creepy. It really makes you wonder what’s behind it!

I grew up in Northern Virginia, but have always loved the beauty of the mountains and countryside. I lived in Elkton, Virginia, in the mountains, for a short time and houses, like this, were everywhere. Most of them white with green or maroon shutters, added even more pleasure to the already magnificent vistas. This house was once beautiful, I’m sure, but what scares me the most, about it, is not the way the shadows are working their magic in the minds of some, (no offensive to those who feel vibes and whatnot),but rather the hideous colors that were used throughout, and the neglect! I see a home that has not seen recent “happy” times. I find this home to be beautiful, as I love this design, but how does anyone take a thing of such beauty and just destroy it with neglect? I can understand when a home falls into disrepair, due to age, but blatant neglect of this sort is so disturbing. I would love to restore this home and make it “happy” again! It’s just not my time, yet. I hope someone turns this house into a “Beauty and the Beast”, love story with a happy ending! 🙂
