    Why so cheap, I wonder?

Scotland neck is not real desirable area unfortunately. My husband and I saw a house here on a website and took the ride out to see it. It looked nothing like the pictures all wide angle lens shoots. There was a beautiful house right across the street from it and several homes being restored on the street, however less than two blocks down the road was downtown and it was a slum.

Scotland Neck has always had cheaper homes. The local economy is not strong, very few jobs.

None of my income is based on my local economy. Indeed, my business would have failed ASAP if it depended on the local economy.

My income is internet based — the miracle of the modern age.

As such, I can live anywhere and reach buyers across the nation.

I am waiting for this economic revolution to revitalize communities across America.

      Or am I naive?

Not a high-style house originally but comfortable. Today it seems to be in the “good bones” category but with the lack of outstanding period details comes the freedom to decorate the home to one’s tastes. Even in an area with a weak economy, how can one beat a large vanilla flavored Victorian with almost an acre and a half of land? The same in many areas would be ten times more costly.
