I love those little grills on the eyebrow windows. If you drive from Albany, NY westward toward Rochester, NY, you’ll see tons & tons of these vernacular Greek Revival houses. They seem to line every little town’s Main Street. I suppose it’s because that area’s economic boon came from the early success of the Erie Canal, and the Greek Revival was the most popular style during those years. It’s a shame that so many of those towns are economically depressed nowadays and so many of those old houses are run-down, neglected or abandoned. I guess being located in a snow belt doesn’t exactly make people want to move there either. If I could afford it, I’d buy one of these old Greek Revival homes and move it to a less snowy location. Miami maybe:)

Is it weird that I actually kinda like the pink cabinets?

I too love the cabinets, wonder what year they were put in?

This upstate New York stuff is killer, I cant get over the prices I’m sure the economy is flat there, but what a nice little house. This place had a re-do in the 1940s the cabinets and bath look like that era probably late 30s early 40s. No to pink unless its on my steak!
